Ornithological study of the special protected area "Benturi" (Balta Ialomiţei Area, Romania) "Benturi" special protected area (SPA) (Balta Ialomiţei area) is formed of three lakes: Bentul Mare, Bentul Mic and Bentul Mic Cotoi, and is situated in a natural area, without dams, belonging to the Lower Danube Green Corridor. By its position, in the middle of Balta Ialomiţei area, "Benturi" SPA represents one of the few territories which were not subjected to major anthropic influences, being visited by many birds. Avifaunal list includes 76 bird species (after new observations made in 2010) which use this territory for its trophic potential, as a resting and nestling place. Among them, there are 25 bird species of EU community interest, 35 bird species which need special protection and 17 bird species included in the Red Book of Vertebrates from Romania (for their conservation a Special Protected Area is needed). The list of the breeding bird fauna includes 54 breeding species and 11 probably breeding species; we noticed the presence of some rare breeding species in Romania and globally threatened species. Near this surface, there is an important archaeological site: Popina-Borduşani. Studiul Avifaunei În Aria Specială de Protecţie Avifaunistică "Benturi" (Balta Ialomiţei, România) Aria specială de protecţie avifaunistică (ASPA) "Benturi" include trei lacuri: Bentul Mare, Bentul Mic şi Bentul Mic Cotoi, fiind situată într-o zonă naturală, lipsită de diguri, parte a Coridorului Verde Dunărea de jos. Prin poziţia sa în mijlocul zonei Bălţii Ialomiţei, ASPA "Benturi" reprezintă unul dintre puţinele teritorii care nu au suferit influenţe antropice importante, fiind vizitat de multe păsări. Lista avifaunistică include un număr de 76 specii de păsări care utilizează acest teritoriu pentru potenţialul său trofic, ca loc de odihnă şi de cuibărit. Între acestea, am întâlnit 25 de specii de păsări de interes comunitar (la nivelul Uniunii Europene), 35 de specii de păsări care au nevoie de protecţie specială şi 17 de specii de păsări cuprinse în Cartea Roşie a Vertebratelor din România. Lista avifaunei clocitoare include 54 de specii cert clocitoare şi 11 specii probabil clocitoare; se observă prezenţa unor specii cuibăritoare rare în România şi protejate la nivel global. În apropierea acestui perimetru, există un important sit arheologic - Popina-Borduşani. La Zone de Protection Spéciale Avifaunique (ZPSA) "Benturi" (la zone de Balta Ialomiţei) comprend trois lacs Bentul Mare, Bentul Mic et Bentul Mic Cotoi, étant située dans une zone naturelle, sans digues construites, partie du Corridor Vert Danube Inférieur. Par sa position dans le milieu de la zone Balta Ialomiţei, le ZPSA "Benturi" représente l'un des rares territoires qui ne souffrent pas de grandes influences négatives, en étant visité par de nombreux oiseaux. La liste de l'avifaune comprend un nombre de 76 (après de nouvelles observations en 2010) espèces d'oiseaux qui utilisent ce territoire pour son potentiel trophique, pour repos et nidification. Entre celles-ci, nous avons trouvé 25 espèces d'oiseaux d'intéręt communautaire, 35 espèces d'oiseaux qui ont besoin d'une protection spéciale et 17 espèces d'oiseaux du Livre Rouge des Vertébrés de Roumanie (pour leur conservation il faut une zone de protection spéciale). La faune des oiseaux nicheurs comprend 54 espèces nicheuses et 11 autres espèces probablement nicheuses; on remarque la présence de quelques espèces nicheuses rares en Roumanie et des espèces menacées au niveau mondial. Dans le périmètre le plus proche de la ZPSA existe un important site archéologique: Popina-Borduşani.
