The expansion of urban areas with the increment of vehicles and the lack of structure in the larges cities are the main factors for traffic jam, because the cities are not prepared for this urban expansion. The São Paulo metropolitan area is an example, drivers are looking for alternatives routes to escape of traffic jam and delays, in addition to seeking to reduce the time spent commuting and the cost with fuel. Within this scenario, it is evident that strategic routes are tracked to optimize a driver's routes in São Paulo. With Linear Programming concept and Excel Solver software, it is possible to make the best mathematical model that meets its functions and restrictions so that it can track the best path, which saves more time and fuel. The data will be collected from the driver (Routa), Google MAPS (alternative routes, time and traffic) and QUALP (calculation of fuel spent per km), analyzing quantitative and qualitative data (variable factors) a best way to set up an objective function and define restrictions.
