This paper presents studies related to application of a STATCOM (Static Synchronous Compensator) with the goal of providing voltage support to a wind-power system based on DFIG (Double Fed Induction Generator) The STATCOM is connected at the point of common connection (PCC) to mitigate energy quality problems.
