In the article features of pathogenetic mechanisms of the combined course of arterial hypertension and type 2 diabetes mellitus are considered. This pathology potentiates the development of microand macrovascular complications, raises cardiovascular risk. Concomitant abdominal obesity contributes to the imbalance of adipocytokines, and complicates the course of type 2 diabetes. It was established that polymorphism of candidate genes associated with the development and progression of insulin resistance, which is of interest for further study.
