As the title implies the article describes the experimentally-phonetic study on the peculiarities of the intonation to a corpus of complex sentences and direct speech in American, British, Canadian and Irish national varieties of English. The comparative analysis of the national varieties of English pronunciation shows that they may vary in the use of final intonational boundary tones. In this article it is also noted the case of «American Drawl» which is mainly typical of the American variety of English.
