The article presents an assessment by Anikin A.V. the development of economic science in the USSR and Russia in the 40–90-e years of the XX century, its interpretation of the backwardness of Russian economic thought from the global evolution of economic theory. The authors note that in the memoirs of A. V. Anikina history of economic thought is presented live, the «humanized»: the famous economists, for whom A. V. Anikin observed in different situations, not only great scientists, but also a bright personality. Memories of Andrei Vladimirovich help us to understand their human characteristics, some of their human weaknesses, create in our mind the personal background of their intellectual activity.
