The article deals with the state of the environment in large cities and describes the relationship of environmental factors with the situation of settlement, the comfort of living in certain areas of large cities, the danger of excessive pollution in residential areas, as well as the issues of quality planning of human settlements taking into account the environmental factors of the urban environment. The article can be useful for workers of territorial planning of large cities, environmentalists, as well as ordinary residents of large cities, as it considers the danger of excessive load on the environment in highly urbanized regions and the impact of this load on residents.
