We found two new species of beetles in Moscow Region. Range of Syntomus obscuroguttatus (Duftschmid, 1812) was analyzed and its northern border in the Moscow Region has been clarified. Its preference of mesophytic and mesoxerophytic habitats in the foreststeppe (in principal with gray forest and leached black soils on loess-loam and sandy loam parent material) as well as coniferous-broad-leaved (in principal with light soil types) and broad-leaved forest subzones (in principal with gray forest soils) of the forest zone was found. Its seasonal activity was monitored; two activity peaks were identified, namely in May – June and late September – early October. Choleva lederiana Reitter, 1902 was found in underground limestone quarries, where it has year-round activity and relatively high abundance. Настоящая статья является продолжением серии публикаций по изучению жесткокрылых Московской области, начало которым было положено Двигубским [Dwigubsky, 1802]. Поскольку данная статья посвящена изучению представителей только двух семейств жуков, а именно Carabidae и Leiodidae, то и небольшой список публикаций, приведенных ниже, сориентирован прежде всего на эти семейства. В последующий период (после работы Двигубского) фауна Carabidae наиболее подробно была приведена в работах Шаровой [1982] и Федоренко [1988], а Leiodidae (s. str.) в статье Перковского [1988]. В последние годы (а точнее, на протяжении двух последних десятилетий) наиболее полные исследования по фауне разных семейств жесткокрылых, среди которых доминировали ксилофильные и мицетофильные жуки (хотя и не только), проводили Никитский и др. [1996, 1998, 2013], Никитский, Семенов [2001], Никитский, Татаринова [2002], Никитский [2003, 2005, 2009], а по жужелицам Грюнталь [2008], Трошкова и др. [2015]. В целом фауна жесткокрылых Московской области изучена сравнительно неплохо. Тем не менее данные, полученные в последние годы, позволили ее дополнить и несколько по-новому взглянуть на процесс формирования фаун Сarabidae и Leiodidae данного региона.
