Резюме. Описан новый вид долгоносиков рода Sitona Germar, 1817 из Копетдага (гора Сюнт) и Талыша (Лерик). Sitona medvedevi sp. n. внешне и по форме эдеагуса сходен с широко распространенным и обычным в Закавказье и Средней Азии S. cylindricollis Fåhraeus, 1840, но хорошо отличается короткой и обычно заметно суженной к вершине головотрубкой, значительно более выпуклыми глазами, не вдавленным лбом, более короткой переднеспинкой со слегка уплощенным дорсовентрально вдоль боков диском в основной половине и более однородной пунктировкой, а также более короткими надкрыльями с менее отчетливым клетчатым рисунком и хорошо развитым коротким полуприподнятым опушением верхней стороны тела. Abstract. A new species of the weevil genus Sitona Germar, 1817 is described from Kopet Dagh (Syunt Mountain) and Talysh (Lerik District in Azerbaijan, Transcaucasia). Sitona medvedevi sp. n. is similar to S. cylindricollis Fåhraeus, 1840, widely distributed and common in Transcaucaisa and Middle Asia, in the habitus and the aedeagus shape, but clearly differs in the shorter rostrum which is usually noticeably narrowed apically; markedly more convex eyes, not-depressed frons, shorter pronotum somewhat flattened dorsoventrally along sides in the basal half and with more uniform punctation on dorsum, in the shorter elytra with less distinct checkered pattern, and in the well developed short subrecumbent pubescence of the dorsal surface of the body.
