去す るた めの所要改削量 が多 く,問 題 となつていた. このつ め底 クラ ック防止対策 として,き わめて有効な 分割 ス リーブ ロール1)2)を 開発 した.こ の ロールは,ス リーブを クラ ックの発生 しやす いつめ底部 で分割 し,ア ーバ ーに焼 きばめす るこ とに より製 造 してい る.こ の分 割 ス リーブロ ールを使用 した結果,つ め底 クラックの発 生は,ま つた くな くな り,従 来 の一体ロ ールに比 し, 2 ~2.5倍 の ロール耐用度 を示 した.ま た,分 割部 の品質 に与え る影響 も皆無 であつた.こ の方式 は,レ ールや溝 型鋼 などの圧延用 ロールに見 られ る クラック防止 に も有 効 である. そ こで,以 下 に,こ の分割 ス リーブ ロールの 開発経 緯,形 状 ・構造 の特徴 お よび,使 用 実績 を報告す る.
