As a very important part of the continuous casting (CC) process, the CC mold has always been concerned and studied by researchers. In the CC process, the molten steel enters the mold through the submerged entry nozzle (SEN) and forms obvious flow pattern in the mold. In addition, there are other macroscopic transport behaviors such as heat transfer, solidification and solute distribution in the mold, which are closely related to the formation of most defects in the billet. Therefore, it is necessary to investigate the macroscopic transport behaviors in the mold. It is well known that the CC process is in a very high temperature operating ambient, it is impossible to directly investigate the macroscopic transport phenomena in the CC process. Thus, many researchers devoted numerical simulation to study the metallurgical behavior of CC strands. M. C.
