The author is a member of the Illinois Bar. He received his A.B. degree in 1958 from Brown University and his J.D. degree in 1961 from the University of Chicago Law School. He has been engaged in the practice of law in Chicago since 1961. He is currently the National Defender Fellow in residence during 1964-65 at the University of Chicago Law School for advanced research in criminal law and administration. He is also serving as the Illinois Reporter to the American Bar Foundation's Indigent Accused Persons Project.-EDIToR.
