Abstract. The purpose of this paper is to improve certain results proved in a recent paper of Imdad et al. in the existance of a common fixed point for contractive mappings in fuzzy metric spaces. We prove our results in fuzzy metric like spaces in the sense of George and Veeramani. We extend some common fixed point theorems due to Ali and Imdad (Sarajevo J. Math., 17(4)(2008), 269—285) and generalize some common fixed point theorems due to Mihet (Nonlinear Anal., 2010). We also give an illustrative example.
