CINÉTICA DE ADSORÇÃO DE FURFURAL PELO ADSORVENTE ARGILA BENTONITA
Riann Queiroz Nóbrega +42019Book series
The search for clean energy, an end to decrease the levels of pollution of the planet and the toxic gases emitted in the atmosphere, turns to attention for a adoption of new technologies, using low cost raw materials. The objective of this work was to evaluate the adsorption of the furfural inhibitor through bentonite clay, with the objective of making possible the production of bioethanol from lignocellulosic biomass. The tests were carried out in batch and synthetic solutions of furfural were used to simulate the process. The adsorption of furfural by the clay did not present satisfactory results, since only 30.833,32% of furfural adsorbed were obtained. The kinetic equilibrium wa reached with a contact time of 5 hours. The adsorption in pre-hydrolysed liquor presented a percentage of 48.6% of furfural adsorption. The results showed that the bentonite clay is not a viable adsorbent for the removal of furfural.
