A dengue é uma doença infecciosa causada pelo vírus dengue (DENV), que se apresenta, até entaõ, sob a forma de 4 sorotipos, (DENV 1,2,3 e 4), pertencente à família Flaviviridae (FIGUEIREDO, 2012). Segundo a Organizaçaõ Mundial da Saúde, a incidência da dengue tem crescido dramaticamente por todo o globo, cerca de 2,5 bilhões de pessoas estão sob risco de contrair dengue (OMS, 2009). O vírus dengue possui genoma de RNA fita simples, cuja expressão codifica uma poliproteína que após processamento segmenta-se em três proteínas estruturais: cápsideo (C), proteína da membrana (M) e glicoproteína do envelope (E), e sete proteínas naõ estruturais: NS1, NS2A, NS2B, NS3, NS4A, NS4B e NS5 (ISLAM, 2015).
