A digitális információk mennyisége robbanásszerű növekszik. A digitális lábnyomok eddig megfigyelhetetlen viszonyokat, hálózatokat tesznek láthatóvá és kutathatóvá. Ennek nyomán az online közösségek szerkezetére vonatkozóan két elméleti pozíció kristályosodik ki skála független megoszlások és a long tail elmélet. Cikkünkben amellett érvelünk, hogy ez egy empirikusan eldöntendő kérdés, és a következő időszak egy fontos kutatási iránya, kezdő lépése lesz az egyes közösségek estében.

Digital Pareto - on the distribution patterns within online communities
We are witnessing an explosion of the digital information. Due to these new digital footprints new type of relations and networks became visible and researchable. Regarding the structure of the new now observable online communities there are two theoretical position crystallized lately: the scale free distribution and Long tail theory. In our paper we argue that it is an empirical question to decided he relevance of these models. The clarification of the relevant structural model is going to be a major research trend and a necessary first step for the study of online communities.
