The purpose of this study is to analyze contents related to photovoltaic power described in ‘science inquiry and experiment’ textbooks according to 2015 revised curriculum. For this purpose, we compared and analyzed seven kinds of ‘science inquiry and experiment’ textbooks in the perspectives of learning contents of photovoltaic power generation, deployment methods of inquiry activities, degree of reflection of core competence, and student evaluation method. The results of this study are as follows. First, there are 9 types of learning contents related to photovoltaic power generation, and it can be seen that 3-7 kinds of learning contents are included in each textbook. Second, inquiry activities related to photovoltaic power generation have been developed in the order of ‘introduction of solar cell’, ‘inquiry using solar cell’, ‘device design using solar cell’, ‘presentation and evaluation’. We could find an actual ‘modeling activity’ in only one textbook. Third, the problem solving abilities are presented in 6 kinds of textbooks and the scientific inquiry ability is presented in 5 kinds of textbooks. Fourth, assessment methods were presented in six textbooks, all of which were forms of group evaluation.
