Surgical treatment of olfactory groove meningiomas Objective: The article reviews the clinical and radiological features of the olfactory groove meningiomas, and it discuss the surgical management of the disease. Methods: A review of the literature was made with special attention to the fronto-orbital approach and the bilateral fronto-orbital approach. Besides, clinical cases illustrated the surgical management of the tumors. Conclusion: The olfactory groove meningiomas are lesions located at a site of important neurovascular structures and they are an interesting neurosurgical challenge. The total removal of the lesions should be the first goal of the treatment, no matter what is the volume of the tumor. The bone and dural attachment of the meningioma should be resected to minimize the risk of the recurrence. The dura of the skull base should be repaired with additional concern to avoid the CSF leakage.
