Resumen. La ensenanza de humanidades en Medicina propone sensibilizar a los estudiantes sobre las dimensiones sociales y culturales del fenomeno salud-enfermedad. En este articulo se recuperan, en un tono reflexivo, discusiones principales en torno a la educacion y al concepto de humanidades medicas, especialmente con respecto a su insercion curricular en la educacion medica. El conocimiento de los trabajos realizados en facultades de medicina regionales es un punto de partida para la discusion y el analisis de la experiencia uruguaya. Abstract . Teaching humanities in Medicine aims to sensitize students about the social and cultural dimensions of health and disease. Here, relevant discussions about teaching medical humanities are considered, in a reflective tone, especially with regard to its insertion in medical education curriculum. Knowledge of the work in regional medical schools can be a useful starting point for the discussion and analysis of the Uruguayan experience.
