This article analyzes a blog written by a man who describes himself as having been in and out of homelessness and addictions over a long period of time. I use Foucault’s ideas about governmentality and technologies of the self to explore the material on this blog and to suggest that the blog is not only a technology of the self through which power is exercised but also a practice of freedom and a means to ethical of care of the self. I propose a complex dialectic between domination and liberation as the writer transforms a disciplinary practice through which power is exerted into a call for the construction of an ethical self by writing regularly for his audience of readers and followers. Cet article analyse un blog ecrit par un homme qui se decrit comme ayant ete dans et hors de l’itinerance et la toxicomanie sur une longue periode de temps. J’utilise des idees de Foucault sur la gouvernementalite et les technologies de soi a explorer le contenu de ce blog et de suggerer que le blog n’est pas seulement une technologie de soi a travers laquelle le pouvoir est exerce, mais aussi une pratique de la liberte et un moyen de l’ethique des soins pour le soi. Je propose une dialectique complexe entre la domination et de liberation que l’ecrivain transforme une pratique disciplinaire a travers lequel le pouvoir est exerce dans un appel pour la construction d’une soi d’ethique en ecrivant regulierement pour son public de lecteurs et de disciples.
