This thesis examines the use of the digital intermediate to recreate the appearance of analog film techniques in recent popular cinema. This particular use of the digital intermediate, which rose to prominence with various concerns about the state of cinema in the digital age, reflects an anxiety toward new technology, as well as a nostalgia for analog filmmaking techniques.
