In this paper, new equations have been developed to obtain the resilience for linearly tapering hollow circular shaft subjected to pure torsion. The resilience equations have been developed from the strain energy equations. While deriving the equations some ratios have been introduced and their significance is also detailed. Two resilience equations have been developed, first resilience equations is obtained by considering the average volume and neglecting suitable terms and second resilience equation is obtained by considering original volume. Conclusions are made on the new equations developed.
