アンパル干潟において赤土堆積による環境変化の指標種になりうるカニ類優占2種を対象として, 4ヶ月間の定点生物定量調査と幼生サンプリングを行い, それらの繁殖時期の推定と艀化直後の幼生の動態について考察した. また, 干潟の流れ場を流動モデルで再現し, Tracerによる数値実験行い幼生の動態について検討した. 現地調査から2種の繁殖時期が重複していることが分かり, それぞれが干潟で分布をもってすみわけていることが統計的に示されるとともに, 海域への幼生流出量には種毎に異なったピークがあることが明らかになった. また, 数値実験からこのピークの違いが, 各々の生息分布と干潟の流動特性に起因しているものと推察された
