本研究においては通勤交通におけるプリファレンス曲線の曲線回帰分析について種々考察を試みてきた。 本研究では、プリファレンス曲線の特性を踏まえて相関係数はもとより観測値と推定値の乖離を考慮した曲線回帰について考察した。 その結果、分析対象とした札幌市の通勤交通の場合は、曲線の特性及び形状等から従来の対数曲線より2次曲線による回帰曲線が相関係数及び適合度指標等においても改善できることを実証的に把握することができた。 また、本研究においては推定された2次曲線における回帰係数及び定数を基に、係数間の関係、各ゾーンの交通流動の相違あるいは曲線の変化と通勤トリップ長の変化の関係等について考察を行った
