Setting of appropriate initial values is necessary to obtain the design alternatives which satisfy the restrictions for the structure design. When a set of initial values is improper, it is necessary to repeat calculation many times. On the other hand, the bridge that has high reliability is requested and the design become complicated. Now, it is difficult for an inexperienced engineer to carry out this work.
