We examined the practical use and cost effectiveness of GIS in a road field. Practical use performed the modeling of road field business, and the application software which supports about 50 business was examined based on subject grasp of the present business. The output of this examination is the "GIS practical use guideline" for considering as reference, when introducing application software in each office. Cost effectiveness perceived the effect (increase in efficiency of business) for the office personnel who are the direct user of GIS as an effect which GIS introduced, and has grasped the effect.
