The current status of registration of plant-based and natural products medicines in 15 Latinoamerican countries and Spain is presented . The requirements for registration and quality control of these products vary significantly from country to country. There is an urgent need for harmonization. Worldwide collaboration and communication processes should be encouraged and several existing programs must be supported.
