Objective: The objective has to determine the incidence of anemia in pregnant women caused by iron, vitamin B9 and B12 deficiencies, who were served in the maternal and infant service of a city located in the middle west of Santa Catarina. Methods: For the research, samples of serum and whole blood were collected from 39 pregnant women attending the Mother and Child Clinic. The RBC indices were analyzed by semiautomatic hematology device model Cobas Micro Roche. The measurements of the concentrations of folate and cobalamins were determined by chemiluminescence. The data obtained in this study were submitted to the mean, standard deviation and statistical charts by Statistica 10.0 software. Results: The analysis for determination of iron showed that 15.38% (n=6) of the volunteers analyzed (n=39) presented a deficiency with variations between 22.4 and 44 μg/dL. The automated determination of hemoglobin showed that about 38% (n=14) are under the reference value, staying between 9.5 μg/dL and 11.3 μg/dL. In the automated determination of hematocrit, the values found were between 28.5 to 34.8% in 38.46% (n=15) of the volunteers, charactering the dosage as low. The B12 determination exhibited 20.51% (n=8) of deficiency rate for this vitamin.
