目的: 本研究の目的はシリコーン系軟質裏装材に対するCandida albicans (以下Candida) の付着状態を明らかにすることである.方法: 材料として3種類のシリコーン系軟質裏装材を使用し, 傷をつけた試験片と無傷の試験片の2グループについて行った.試験片への唾液の沈着は, ろ過滅菌唾液中に試験片を浸漬し, 経時的に試験片を取り出しトルイジンブルー染色を行い, 光顕的に観察した.試験片への被験菌の付着は, 3種類のCandidaを培養した培養液に試験片を浸漬させ, 経時的に試験片を取り出し, 一定の水流で洗浄後, 試験片に付着した菌の分布, 形態などについて光顕的に観察を行った.結果: 唾液の沈着実験は1日後にすべての試験片に唾液の沈着が認められた.Candidaの付着実験 では, 1日後に酵母型のCandidaが観察された.菌の付着量は経時的に増加し, 唾液が沈着している部位が顕著であった.表面に傷をつけた場合, 浸漬1日後にすでに大量の菌が付着していた.結論: シリコーン系軟質裏装材表面への菌の付着は, 唾液の有無に関係なくCandidaは付着可能であるが, 唾液の沈着のある場合がより付着しやすいことが認められた.試験片への菌の付着では, 初期段階で酵母型が重要な働きをし, さらに表面性状が重要であり, 傷のある部位に付着しやすいことが認められた.
