Patient: The chief complaint of the patient (60 years old, female) was masticatory disturbance due to a lack of occlusal support and unstable clasp dentures. Clinical examinations revealed multiple missing teeth, root fractures and severe attrition of remaining teeth, unstable removable partial dentures, and severe occlusal disharmony. Treatment dentures, maxillary overdenture and mandibular clasp denture were first fabricated in order to correct the occlusal relationship and then final removable dentures were delivered and followed up for more than 4 years with a successful clinical outcome. Discussion: In the prosthodontic treatment of partially edentulous patients with unstable occlusion, it is generally difficult to achieve favorable treatment outcomes. Acrylic treatment dentures can be used effectively for these patients in order to improve the treatment outcomes of final dentures. Conclusion: Treatment dentures were effectively used for occlusal reconstruction. The established occlusal relationship was referred to when the final prostheses were fabricated to secure favorable treatment outcomes.
