The purpose of this study is to provide framework for the national competency standard based curriculum development in the field of make-up at university. Based on the review of literature, case study of curriculum development of H university, department of cosmetology was conducted from a perspective of national competency standard (NCS). In the study, the contracting out students of industries were surveyed to find out the demand of industries and curriculum was reformed based on the competency unit and department’s own competency standards by NCS. Further study is needed operation of NCS-based curriculum including subject-materials, syllabus, evaluation in teaching & learning.
