Femtosecond optical-heterodyne detected, Raman-induced Car effect spectroscopy was used to characterize the full spectrum of the intermolecular vibrational and diffusive dynamics for these five amides, which are among the most interesting organic solvents. 50-fs, transform-limited pulses were used to excite all the intermolecular motions in the 0 to 400 cm{sup -1} range.
