الهدف الرئیس:  یهدف البحث إلى استعراض ومناقشة التراث البحثى الاجتماعی حول ممارسة العنف ضد المرأة بأنماطه المختلفة؛ الجسدیة والمعنویة، وذلک على المستوى العربی والعالمی. وهو ما قد یفضی إلى التنبیه إلى مدى خطورة هذه المشکلة/ الظاهرة، وکذا تشکیل معرفة علمیة بشأن أوجه التشابه والاختلاف والتمایز المتعلق بها على مستویات متباینة؛ عربیا وعالمیا. أهم نتائج الدراسة: 1- إن ممارسة العنف ضد المرأة بأشکاله المختلفة, یعد بمثابة وباء عالمى یهدد حیاة النساء والفتیات, وذلک وفق بیانات وإحصاءات المنظمات الدولیة المعنیة برصد هذه الظاهرة. 2- یؤدی الفهم الخاطئ للدین والعصبیة الشدیدة والنظرة المجتمعیة التقلیدیة والنمطیة لدور المرأة التقلیدى إلى ممارسة العنف ضدها. 3- وجود علاقة إرتباطیة بین الفقر والعنف الموجه ضد النساء, ومن ثم إضعافهن إجتماعیآ وثقافیآ وإقتصادیآ..إلخ. 4- أهمیة الأبعاد الإجتماعیة والإقتصادیة لظاهرة تأنیث الفقر, کأحد أوجه العنف الممارس ضد المرأة. 5- العنف الممارس ضد المرأة یشکل أحد أهم معوقات التنمیة. Abstract This research aims to review the research literature on violence against women in its various forms, namely: psychological and physical, violence of men against women, violence of customs and traditions, and the phenomenon of feminization of poverty as one of the poverty aspects against women.  - The study concluded the following most important results: 1- The practice of violence against women in its various forms, represents a global epidemic threatens the lives of women and girls, according to the data and statistics of international organizations.  2- Misperception of religion, extreme nervousness and traditional and stereotypical societal perception of women's traditional role leads to violence against them.  3- There is a correlation between poverty and violence against women, and thus weakening them socially, culturally and economically. And so on.  4- The importance of the social and economic dimensions of the phenomenon of feminization of poverty, as one of the aspects of violence against women.
