Introduction The Kindergarten phase is so important. When children go to a kindergarten, they experience greater success once they enter elementary school. Children’s early learning experiences have a profound effect on their development and success in school (Miedel and Reynolds, 1999). Vocabulary is so important for communication. Wilkins (1972) stated that “without grammar, very little can be conveyed; without vocabulary nothing can be conveyed.” (p. 111). Other researchers (e.g. Herman and Dole, 1988; Leny, 2006) assured that the mastery of vocabulary is useful for the mastery of language skills (listening, speaking, reading, and writing). As for kindergarten children, it is so important to teach them vocabulary in their early years. Justice and Pullen (2003) mentioned that children, who face difficulties in their acquisition of vocabulary, might fall behind their peers in the primary grades. Since learning a foreign language is essential especially in the Kindergarten stage, as children tend to absorb foreign languages more easily than older students and adults (Abbott and Stewart, 2007; Folse, 2004; Putri, 2010), vocabulary is more important in learning a foreign language.
