The chemical constituents of microalgae can be varied with culture age or the growth phase (Costard et al., 2012) as well as the modification in culture conditions (Durmaz et al., 2009; Carvalho et al., 2009). Information on the chemical composition of microalgae may change due to differences of the methods of measurement used (Barbarino and Lourenço, 2005). Green algae such as Chlorella sp., Tetraselmis sp. and Nannochloropsis were commonly used as important live food microalgae in aquaculture, and therefore they have been commercially produced (Huerlimann et al., 2010).
