Perciformes is the most diverse order of ray-finned fish and include about forty percent of all species of bony fish, making it also the largest order of vertebrates. Gouramis are a group of freshwater perciformes fish es that comprise the family Osphronemidae. There are 15 genera and 46 species i n the family Osphronemidae. The genus Trichogaster is represented by 4 species including three-spot go urami (T. trichopterus), peal gourami ( T. leeri), moonlight gourami ( T. microlepis) and snakeskin gourami ( T. pectoralis) (Vidthayonon, 2005 ).
