من المسلم به على نطاق عام أن إدخال تكنولوجيا المعلومات والاتصالات في نواحي حياتنا المختلفة ، أدى إلى تغييرات هامة في عملية تنظيم المدن والأماكن العامة والحياة الاجتماعية اليومية. وعلى الرغم من ذلك فان طبيعة هذه التغيرات غير ثابتة وتتغير بتغير نوعية الأدوات التكنولوجية والمكان المطبق فيه تلك التكنولوجيا. وتحاول هذه الورقة إثبات أن مفاهيم المكان والزمان قد تغيرت جذريا من خلال الأشكال الجديدة لإمكانية الوصول والربط التي توفرها تطبيقات تكنولوجيا المعلومات والاتصالات ، التي تحاول إذابة الحدود بين الفراغات العامة والخاصة وشبه العامة للمكان. فالمجال المكاني العام الحضري المعاصر ، ليس ماديا فقط ولا رقميا فقط بل مجموعة متداخلة بين الاثنين. قد يكون مفهوم مثل ”الفضاء الهجين” أو (hybrid space) مفيد إلى حد ما ، ولكن هناك حاجة إلى صورة عقلية مرنة أكثر تجريدا واقل ازدواجية للاماكن العامة. وخلصت الورقة إلى استعراض أسلوب جديد لكيفية إعادة تهيئة الفراغ العام بداخل الحرم الجامعى عن طريق استخدام مجموعة من الأدوات التكنولوجية التي تحقق الصفات المكانية المحققة لخاصية التفاعل والمتمثلة في الصفات المكانية وصفات الخصوصية والهوية والتحكم في المحيط . ,It is generally recognized that the introduction of information and communication technologies in our different areas of life has led to significant changes in the process of organizing cities, public places and daily social life. However, the nature of these changes is not constant and changes depending on the quality of the technological tools and where the technology is applied. This paper attempts to prove that the concepts of space and time have changed radically because of the new forms of accessibility and connectivity provided by ICT applications, which attempt to dissolve the boundaries between the public, private and semi-public areas of the place. The spatial structure of the modern place is not only physical and not only digital, but a combination of them. A concept such as ”hybrid space” may be useful to some extent, but a more flexible, less abstract, and more generalized mental image is needed. The paper concluded with a review of a new method of how to reconstruct the public space on campus by using a set of technological tools that achieve the spatial qualities achieved for the interaction characteristic of territoriality, privacy, identity and ambience
