Bu calismada, Van ilinde geleneksel, koruyucu ve toprak islemesiz ekim sistemleri kislik arpada 2010-2011 ve 2012-2013 uretim sezonlarinda denenmistir. Tesaduf bloklarinda bolunen bolunmus parseller deneme deseninde uc tekrarlamali olarak yurutulen calismada, cizel ile islenen ve islenmeyen parsellerin her birinde dort farkli toprak isleme ve dogrudan ekim sistemi uygulanmistir. Toprak isleme sistemleri; geleneksel (kulakli pulluk), koruyucu (centikli diskaro veya rotovator) ve toprak islemesiz olarak secilmistir. Arastirmada; 20 cm’de penetrasyon direnci olcumleri, hasat sonrasi 0-20 cm’de kok uzunlugu yogunlugu olcumleri yapilmistir. Gelisim doneminde ise bazi fenolojik olcum ve gozlemler (basaklanma suresi, bitki boyu, basak uzunlugu, bin tane agirligi, biyolojik verim, tane verimi ve hasat indeksi) yapilmistir. Arastirma sonunda, cizel kullaniminin toprak penetrasyon direnci ve toprak nem icerigi ve kok uzunlugu yogunlugu, dolayisiyla da verim degerleri uzerinde olumlu etkisi oldugu gorulmustur. Cizel + centikli diskaro uygulamasi istatistiksel olarak pullukla ayni veya bir sonraki grupta yer almistir
