Biofuels industries have made great efforts to establish the best pretreatment of lignocellulosic biomass for 2G-ethanol production. Therefore, this work, sugarcane bagasse (BCA), employed to the pre-treatment of steam explosion in an autoclave reactor at 120 °C. The chemical characterization performed by high performance liquid chromatography and morphological analyzes by spectroscopic techniques (FTIR and XRD). The evaluated pretreatment revealed changes in chemical and structural composition biomass with cellulose mass percentage of 37.51 and hemicellulose 21.32 in the untreated BCA for 30.82 cellulose and 17.14 of hemicellulose in the pre-treated BCA. The fractions cellulose and hemicelluloses decreased after pretreatment, suggesting generation other products as furfural, hydroxymethylfurfural, acetic acid and formic acid. The FTIR and XRD spectroscopy analyzes showed structural differences between the complexity of the untreated and pretreated biomass. Therefore, the results suggest that the pretreatment results in the breakdown of the biomass fibers. As indústrias de biocombustíveis têm empenhado grande esforço para estabelecer o melhor prétratamento da biomassa lignocelulósica para produção de etanol de segunda geração. Portanto, neste trabalho, o bagaço da cana-de-açúcar (BCA), foi submetido ao pré-tratamento de explosão a vapor em reator autoclave a 120 °C por 45 min. A caracterização química foi realizada por cromatografia líquida de alta eficiência e as análises morfológicas por técnicas espectroscópicas (FTIR e DRX). O pré-tratamento avaliado revelou mudanças na composição química e estrutural da biomassa com porcentagem mássica de celulose de 37,51 e hemiceluloses 21,32 no BCA não tratado para 30,82 de celulose e 17,14 de hemiceluloses no BCA pré-tratado. As frações de celulose e hemiceluloses diminuíram após o pré-tratamento, produzindo outros produtos como furfural, hidroximetilfurfural, ácido acético e ácido fórmico. As análises por espectroscopia FTIR e DRX indicaram diferenças estruturais entre a complexidade da biomassa não tratada e pré-tratada. Portanto, os resultados indicam que o pré-tratamento resulta em desorganização das fibras que constituem a biomassa.
