The curricular design and its execution is based on different theoretical references which include aspects such as the philosophical, epistemological, psychological, anthropological, sociological and pedagogical ones, as well as a reflection about its relevance, it is also a social research focus on flexibility and interdisciplinary among other scenarios that make the suitability of the curriculum complex; as in Martha Nussbaum’s words, education must allow society to occupy “its fair place” for the formation of free, autonomous, compassionate and critical societies. The proposed bibliographical analysis highlights the different research tendencies that include innovative techniques, methods and/or models that define the curricular design for the development of competencies in secondary education students, for which some categories and sub-categories of analysis have been established, which identified among other aspects, the lack of human capacities and the need for greater articulation of the curriculum in the contexts of life.
