This report is the second systematic application of the Measure of the Quality of Life in Detention Survey (MQLD) in British Immigration Removal centres. The MQLD has been developed specifically for understanding the characteristics, needs and experiences of immigration detainees with a view to improving detention conditions and policy. It is made up of three parts focused on demographic data, mental and physical health and quality of life. The report compares detainees’ perceptions in four institutions, IRC Campsfield House, Yarl’s Wood, Colnbrook and Dover, finding important differences among them.
