Cellobiose dehydrogenase (CDH) is an extracellular oxidoreductive enzyme produced by wood-decaying fungi belonging to the phylum  Basidiomycota  and  Ascomycota.  This enzyme has a binary structure containing two cofactors (FAD and hem), located in separate domains and connected by a proteolytically sensitive linker. Due to its unique structure and properties, CDH has great potential for application in both biotechnology and biomedical applications.
