D. s p lt s ht e ire Aroma is an important quality characteri tic in fresh fruits and vegetables. With the hi demand for quality fruits and vegetables th do not stink, it is important to have reliabl qualitative, quantitative, and inexpensive me ods to analyze aromas. The many unemplo students are a readily available, cheap sou of olfactory sensors. This study describes development and use of summer students olfactory detectors. The objectives of the stu were to 1) evaluate morphological charact istics of noses (olfactory detectors, OD) a their relationship to odor sensitivity and samp accommodation, 2) calibrate quantitative a qualitative responses of the OD, and 3) int face the OD to a strip chart recorder for ef cient data collection.
