The reaction of manganese perchlorate with nicotinamide in water afforded a polymeric Mn(II) complex. This complex was solved in the monoclinic system, space group P21/n, with the following unit-cell parameters: a = 10.0155(7)A, b = 9.7389(7)A, c = 10.9063(7)A, β = 111.452(1)°, Z = 2, V = 990.1(1)A3. The final R value was 0.0259 for 8177 measured reflections.
