In the summer of 1982, archaeologists from the Center for Archaeological Research, The University of Texas a t San Antonio, conducted an intensive survey of 4000 acres leased t o the Chevron Resources Company in southwestern Brooks County, Texas. Twenty-seven archaeological s i t e s were identified. Four prehistoric s i t e s and two his tor ic s i t e s are recommended for further work in order to determine the i r potential for nomination to the National Register of Historic Places.
