Abstrakt: Přednáška se zabývá některými novými trendy v náplni práce Týmu pro kontrolu infekcí spojených se zdravotní péčí ve Spojených Státech (ICC, Infection Control Committee), kde vedle sledování těchto infekcí přibyl i těmto ICC Týmům dohled nad správným používáním antibiotik (tzv. antibiotic stewardship), jehož principy uvádím. Každoročně ICC řeší i očkování zaměstnanců i pacientů nemocnice proti chřipce, protože přístup k očkování zdravotnického personálu je V USA razantnější než u nás. Ze čtyřech hlavních skupin infekcí spojených se zdravotní péčí sledovaných v tamních nemocnicích uvádím příklad prevence infekcí močových cest spojených s močovými katetry.
