PURPOSE: This U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Regional Sediment Management Technical Note (RSM-TN) introduces the Cross Section Viewer, a software tool for storing, displaying, and automating common geomorphic analysis with riverine cross section data. This RSM-TN presents examples of three analyses that the Cross Section Viewer automates: (1) longitudinal profiles of average bed elevation, (2) longitudinal cumulative volume change curves, and (3) depth distributions.
