Sintesis komposit besi oksida kitosan dilakukan dengan memodifikasi kitosan dengan senyawa besi oksida. Komposit besi oksida kitosan dikarakterisasi dengan FTIR, XRD, SAA, FESEM. Hasil karakterisasi komposit besi oksida sebelum diadsorp telah terimobilisasi pada permukaan kitosan dengan munculnya bilangan gelombang pada 543,67 cm-1 yang karakteristik dengan ikatan Fe-O dan setelah diadsorp masih terlihat puncak pada bilangan gelombang 3472,02 cm-1 yang karakteristik masih adanya gugus amina, namun memiliki intensitas yang lebih rendah dan pada bilangan 452,33 cm-1 karakteristik masih adanya ikatan Fe-O juga memilikiintensitas yang lebih rendah. Hasil analisis difraksi sinar-x (XRD) dan Field Emission Scanning Electron Microscope (FESEM), menunjukkan bahwa komposit besi oksida kitosan memiliki bentuk ukuran diameter kecil yang berbeda-beda. Hasil yang diperoleh menunjukkan bahwa adsorpsi optimum ion Cd(II) terjadi pada pH 7,0; waktu kontak 20 menit dan konsentrasi awal larutan Cd(II) 50 ppm dengan kapasitas adsorpsi sebesar 48,44 mg/g adsorben.Synthesis of iron oxide composite chitosan done by modification chitosan with iron oxide compound. Chitosan composite iron oxide characterized by FTIR, XRD, SAA, FESEM. Characterization of iron oxide composite outcome before diadsorp been immobilized on the surface of chitosan with the advent of wave numbers at 543.67 cm-1 are characteristic of the Fe-O bond and after adsorbed still visible peaks at wave numbers 3472.02 cm-1 which is characteristic of the group amine, but has a lower intensity and the number 452.33 cm-1 characteristic is the Fe-O bond also has a lower intensity. The results of x-ray diffraction analysis (XRD) and Field Emission Scanning Electron Microscope (FESEM), indicating that the iron oxide composite chitosan has the form of a small diameter size different. The results showed that the optimum ion adsorption of Cd (II) occurs at pH 7.0; 20 minutes contact time and initial concentration of a solution of Cd (II) 50 ppm with the adsorption capacity of 48.44 mg / g of adsorbent.
