Resumo: O presente artigo analisa a teoria do decrescimento e a cultura andina acerca do bem-viver como instrumento de garantia de um horizonte sustentável. Por haver divergências nos relatórios ambientais e doutrina acerca do desenvolvimento sustentável e a sua eficácia, o decrescimento ganha notoriedade por apresentar um modelo de alteração radical de sociedade no que concerne as suas prioridades, controvertendo índices de crescimento, como o Produto Interno Bruto (PIB), e sugerindo outros para medição de sua satisfação. No mesmo caminho, quebrando paradigmas coloniais de produção e consumo, Equador e Bolívia passaram a proteger o meio ambiente como sujeito de direito a fim de garantir o bem-viver (ou sumak kawsay) da atual e futura geração. A pesquisa demonstra como tais conceitos comunicam-se a fim de fornecer perspectiva a um meioambiente realmente sustentável. Abstract: This article analyzes the theory of decay and the Andean culture on welfare as an instrument to guarantee a sustainable horizon. Because there are divergences in environmental reports and doctrine about sustainable development and its effectiveness, the decline is notorious for presenting a model of radical change of society in regard to its priorities, controversial growth rates such as the Gross Domestic Product (GDP), and suggesting others to measure their satisfaction. In the same way, breaking colonial paradigms of production and consumption, Ecuador and Bolivia began to protect the environment as a subject of law in order to guarantee the well-being (or sumak kawsay) of the current and future generation. Research demonstrates how such concepts communicate in order to provide perspective to a truly sustainable environment.
