article considers questions of the organization of extracurricular activities in educational institutions. In article the opinion of the author on the organization of extracurricular activities is reflected in school and relevance of further studying of various forms of the organization of extracurricular activities for teenagers of 11-12 years is proved. The author has analysed the existing options of the organization of extracurricular activities at school, has adduced the arguments proving that the considered options aren't optimum and the organization of extracurricular activities at school demands further studying and improvement. The author has expressed opinion that application of projects and research and development of teachers of OU relating to realization of extracurricular activities at school in practice can significantly improve this activity and help children with self-determination and self-realization of the potential. In protection of the expressed opinion the author provides results of the research conducted on the basis of realization of the methodical development "The My Sports Country project" in article.
